2006 - Model-Based Design
Lecturer: Jeff Bauer, John Deere
Abstract:
John Deere Dubuque Works began experimenting with dSPACE in 2000. We began with 1 MicroAutoBox and 1 dual AutoBox. We have grown to now have 6 MicroAutoBoxes with several concurrent projects across our product line. The use of dSPACE hardware and software has greatly reduced the development time of prototype control systems. Work thus far has been done with limited resources, but we are currently developing a process to outline specific resources for improved model-based design and rapid prototyping. The next step is to develop a modeling strategy that will allow auto-code generation directly onto production control boxes utilizing the John Deere Operating System. From this point, we will structure common modeling blocks that will simplify modeling complexity and further reduce development time.
